Out of an estimated 4.86 million persons with disabilities (PWD) in Malaysia, only about 10% or slightly over 500,000 were officially registered as of 2019. Let’s help change that by sharing this OKU Malaysia guide!

OKU ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION LINK

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applications for the registration of disabled persons can be made at any District/Division/Colony Social Welfare Office or online by using the 2019 Amended Disabled Persons Registration Application Form (BPPOKU) through www.oku.jkm.gov.my

The approval of the OKU Registration Application can also be checked online at www.oku.jkm.gov.my

ELIGIBILITY
– Malaysian
– Has been certified by a medical expert/Government medical officer or private medical expert/practitioner registered with the National Specialist Register of Malaysia (NSR)/ Malaysia Medical Council (MMC)
* For obvious disabilities (hand/foot calluses, hand/toe calluses or loss of any 2 fingers/toes) can be confirmed by the Assistant Registrar at the District/Colony/Division Social Welfare Office

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
– Social Welfare Department Service Form
– Application Form for Registration of the Disabled – BPPOKU (Amendment 2019) LINK
– Copy of MyKad / My Kid / birth certificate Copy of Old OKU Card (for re-registration cases)
– A passport-sized photograph for MyKid holders and a birth certificate
– Separate medical report (if applicable)
